Our workshop aims to assist participants in aligning their actions with their values—a crucial step toward achieving authenticity.
Understanding and defining personal values is an important component in navigating periods of disintegration and personal growth. It helps us develop an autopsychotherapy plan, and enact changes in our lives to walk our talk, and live more authentically.
In the workshop, we will learn what values are and how they operate, informing our identity and guiding our behaviours and decisions. We will also explore how values can change through disintegration.
Attendees will then participate in some practical exercises to help them articulate their values and develop a personal action plan to embody these values in their daily lives. This includes:
Discovering our drivers and what is important to us
The workshop is designed to be interactive, allowing for personal reflection and group discussion.
Emma Nicholson is a business analyst by day, and content creator by night (kind of like Batman, without the crime). She is the Vice President of the Dabrowski Center, cohost of the Positive Disintegration podcast, and creates content on overexcitabilities and the theory of positive disintegration for her website Tragic Gift and YouTube channel *Adults With Overexcitabilities.*
Exploring problems and finding solutions is her daily bread and butter, and she has a knack for simplifying technical information so it can be easily shared with others. She is also a creative soul, with zero cares about sharing skeletons in the closet, if it will help someone else. Most importantly, she has an un-killable passion for promoting the theory of positive disintegration to help people feel supported and understood.
Chris Wells, PhD is a neurodivergent writer, social worker, and Dąbrowski scholar with a passion for studying and applying the theory of positive disintegration. As the founding president of the Dąbrowski Center and co-host of the Positive Disintegration Podcast, Chris is dedicated to sharing knowledge and resources about this profound theory and the psychology of giftedness. Chris provides specialized consulting services to clinicians and educators internationally, delivering deep insights into positive disintegration and its practical applications. They also offer their unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise as an advocate and speaker for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Chris lives with their partner and teenage son in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, USA.
The Dabrowski Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the Theory of Positive Disintegration through advocacy, education, and innovation. Our 501(c)3 Federal Tax Identification Number is 87-4818928.
